I’d bet on you
We’ll see this through
You’ll be the picture of health, one day
I’d bet on you
We’ll see this through
I’ll be here...come what may!
After 14 rounds of chemotherapy, 29-year-old, Penelope S. received the news she and her husband Taylor had so longed to hear. Penelope was declared cancer-free.
The loving couple could not be happier and the future was finally looking bright.
The road back to good health was a long and winding one, but thankfully, Penelope had her doting husband’s hand to hold along the way. His reassurance and encouragement provided the additional strength she needed to overcome what seemed to be, at times, insurmountable. In fact, doctors had once suggested that the survival odds were not in her favor and that the current treatments would most likely only be prolonging the inevitable. Those words rang through Penelope’s ears, over and over, and they trampled her already frequently frenzied thoughts. Taylor remained by his wife’s side and assured her that he would always bet on her, despite the odds.
So, when a new clinical trial became available, Taylor encouraged his beautiful bride to take the chance and participate, if it was what she wished to do. It was a bit of a risk, yes, but it proved to be in the end, worth the gamble.
Two years after the life-changing news and the return to good health, Penelope and Taylor began discussing with the physicians the possibility of having children. Unfortunately, the couple learned that the cancer treatments had rendered Penelope incapable of having biological children. So, after a great deal of research and consideration, the couple made the decision to adopt. Although it was a lengthy process, eighteen months later, they brought home, Page Marie, and eight days later...Penelope learned that she was pregnant.
Today, Penelope, Taylor, Page Marie and Michael are healthy, happy, and living joyfully. Together, they have learned to climb mountains, overcome obstacles, celebrate their victories, believe in, and bet on one another, after all, the odds are in their favor!
